Vigan City Fiesta: Celebrating the Conversion of St. Paul   Walking around Vigan City during its yearly fiesta is like stepping into a happy mix of old times and big fun. This party is all about honoring St. Paul, and it brings together the city’s pretty old houses and everyone’s strong faith in one big get-together. The streets are full of people – locals and visitors – who come to see the big parades that go down the stone roads lined with white houses and red roofs. Bright lights and colorful decorations make everything look extra special. Dancers wear nice outfits and move together in perfect steps, telling stories about their beliefs and hometown. Big stages are set up in open areas, and when night comes, they light up like magic. You can hear drums playing, people laughing, and sellers calling out what they have – from Vigan’s famous sausage to sweet snacks you’ll love.   The fiesta starts with a quiet church service at St. Paul’s Cathedral, where...

Reflection on Grade 10 Information and Communication Technology

Image
Looking back at my Grade 10 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) subject, I realize how much it has shaped my understanding of technology and its role in our lives. What began as a subject I thought would simply teach me how to use computers turned into a meaningful learning experience that equipped me with practical skills, critical knowledge, and a new perspective on the digital world we live in.   Throughout the course, I acquired a range of valuable competencies that have already become part of my daily routine. In terms of core skills, I gained hands-on experience with productivity tools like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. I spent time mastering document formatting, creating, and designing clear, engaging presentations. At first, I saw these as just requirements for completing assignments, but I quickly discovered their real-world value, track my progress in different subjects, and create materials for group projects with my classmates.   ...

José Rizal: The Enduring Legacy of a Philippine National Hero

Image
José Rizal, often called the "face of the Philippines," was more than just a physician, writer, and polymath. He was a catalyst for change, a beacon of hope, and a symbol of Filipino identity. Among his many contributions, Rizal's greatest was igniting the spirit of nationalism and inspiring a revolution that ultimately led to the Philippines' independence.   Rizal's novels, "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo," served as powerful tools to expose the social ills and injustices perpetrated by the Spanish colonial regime. Through his vivid characters and compelling narratives, he awakened a sense of national consciousness among Filipinos, encouraging them to question the existing order and fight for their rights. His writings transcended mere literature; they became a call to action, urging Filipinos to recognize their shared identity and work towards a common goal.   Beyond his literary works, Rizal's dedicatio...
